Sherina Munaf Brings Home The AMI Awards After Two More Decades

JAKARTA - Sherina Munaf brought home the AMI Awards this year in two categories, namely Best Orchestral Work, and Best Scoring Album. This victory adds to the collection of Sherina trophies, which previously won five times at the AMI Awards.

But what makes it interesting, this trophy is Sherina's first win as an adult musician. The five previous trophies were obtained more than two decades ago, while still a child singer, namely at the AMI Awards in 1999 and 2000.

For the first category, Sherina won through the song Special Prize' which was sung with Isyana Sarasvati and Chandra Satria, and assisted by co-producer Alvin Witarsa and Belanegara Abe.

Meanwhile, in the second category, Sherina won through her work which became the original score in the film Adventure of Sherina 2.

For the 34-year-old woman, this victory is interpreted as an appreciation for the hard work of the team, as well as as a trigger to continue working.

"I am very grateful, this is proof of appreciation from friends from the Industry for the results of our hard work and our love for this film and music," said Sherina, met after an event at Ciputra Artpreneur, South Jakarta, Wednesday, December 4.

"But I think in the future it is very important for us to continue to work to do what we want and like, without thinking too much we have to catch the trophy or whatever. Only if in the end there is an appreciation, I thank you," he continued.

In the future, Sherina promises other works for Indonesian music lovers. He felt even more excited to continue to make music

"I feel more and more enthusiastic to work, because I really want to say a lot, there's a lot that I want to make. So we're looking forward to it," he said.

In the 27th AMI Awards, Sherina was nominated for four categories, with two of them won.

Sherina is in the category of Best Original Soundtrack Production through her duet song with Derby Romero entitled 'Win Stars'. But she had to hand over the victory to Lyodra with the soundtrack of Ipar is Death entitled 'Don't Always Have'.
