Acting Governor Of West Java Asks Regents-BPBD To Prioritize Handling Of Sukabumi Flood Victims

JABAR - Acting Governor of West Java (Jabar) Beyvi Machmudin asked relevant officials such as regents, BPBD, and policy makers to prioritize handling victims affected by flash floods in Sukabumi Regency.

Bey said that he had ordered the Regent of Sukabumi Marwan Hamami and the local BPBD to prioritize the evacuation of victims who were still trapped in flash floods, and asked for safe evacuation places to be prepared for the victims, from the threat of potential disasters.

"The basic needs of victims such as blankets, clothes must be met, because the weather is still rainy and cold," said Bey when contacted by reporters, Wednesday, December 4, confiscated by Atara.

Bey plans to directly inspect the location of the disaster, Thursday (December 5), to ensure the condition of the victims affected by the flash flood. "Tomorrow morning I will go there to review," he said.

Meanwhile, based on data from the West Java BPBD received from the Pusdalops PB BPBD Sukabumi Regency, it was stated that extreme weather occurred from last Tuesday to Wednesday, December 4, resulting in flash floods at a number of points, including Ciemas District, Palabuhanratu District, Cimanggu Village, Tegallega Village, Cidolog District, Gegerbitung District, Puncakpari Village and Cikadu Village, Sirnamekar Village, Tegalbuleud District, and Pabuaran District.

It was reported that there were no casualties due to the flash flood.

In addition to flash floods, it was also reported that landslides occurred in Sukabumi Regency, namely Simpenan, Cisolok, Nagrak, Sagaranten, Palabuhanratu, Warungkiara and Lengkong sub-districts.

Land movement also occurred in Cikembar and Bantargadung sub-districts, due to extreme weather that occurred.

The Chief Executive of the Sukabumi BPBD, Deden Sumpena, said that he had made a number of efforts, namely by coordinating with the local community to collect data on the impact of damage and assessments at affected locations.

"The BPBD of Sukabumi Regency is still collecting data and assessments. Urgent needs, evacuation at the location of the disaster," he said.
