Former Mimika Regent Eltinus Omaleng Out Of Prison, Timika Kalapas: Undergo Treatment
CENTRAL PAPUA - Former Mimika Regent Eltinus Omaleng (EO), a prisoner of the Timika Penitentiary (Lapas) in Central Papua Province, is undergoing health care.
Timika Headquarters Mansur Yunus Gafur said EO underwent treatment or therapy at the Pratama Auwyong Clinic in Timika.
"The person concerned must undergo treatment and it is proven by a doctor's certificate from the clinic in Timika City," he said in a written statement Wednesday, December 4, which was confiscated by Antara.
According to Mansur, the person concerned underwent treatment from November 26, 2024 to December 2, 2024.
"I also want to clarify regarding the media coverage on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, regarding one of the inmates of EO who is not in the Class II B Timika Prison," he said.

He thanked the mass media as a partner of the government, in this case the Timika Class II B Prison, which has provided input and controlled the agency through reporting.
"As a form of synergy between us and our media colleagues in Timika, today, I received a visit from one of the journalists from Fajar Papua to clarify the news regarding the existence of EO in this prison," he said again.
He added that as a leader who has only served for three months in the area, he continues to strive to fix Timika's Class II B Prison to be better in the future with the support of mass media control.
"This meeting with our fellow journalists took place familiarly and friendlyly, because we as public servants must open ourselves up to the public and also media colleagues regarding the disclosure of public information," he said.
