Bawaslu Receives Nearly 1,500 Complaints For Election Violations
JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Lolly Suhenty said that as of December 1, 2024 Bawaslu had received nearly 1,500 reports of alleged violations related to the implementation of the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada).
"There are already many cases of handling violations in Bawaslu. As of December 1, there are almost 1,500 from the side of the report," said Lolly in the media gathering with the theme Evaluation of the 2024 Simultaneous Election Supervision in Bintan Regency, Riau Islands, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 3.
This figure, he continued, shows that there are many efforts to violate the rules even though prevention has been carried out.
However, Lolly said that in general the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada went well.
So far, Lolly has seen almost no riots related to the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada.
"If there was a riot yesterday in Puncak Jaya, the story is different," he said.
Lolly explained that Papua has its own characteristics so that the perspective on conditions in Papua should not be equated with the perspective of events that occur outside Papua.
"Among the many events that have surfaced, we state that in general the regional elections are going well," said Lolly.

Previously, Lolly assessed that the performance of the regional head election (Pilkada) in 2024 was better than the 2024 General Election (Pemilu), based on the low recommendations for re-voting (PSU).
The hocpilkada body consists of the sub-district election committee (PPK), the voting committee (PPS), the polling organizers group (KPPS), voter data updating officers (pantarih), to order officers at the polling station.
One of the provinces referred to by Lolly is South Sulawesi. In the 2024 General Election, Bawaslu gave recommendations in the form of re-voting (PSU) at 69 polling stations. In the 2024 Pilkada, Bawaslu provided PSU recommendations at 13 South Sulawesi TPS.
Apart from South Sulawesi, Lolly also highlighted the PSU recommendations given by Bawaslu to Papua during the 2024 General Election.
"Papua is very high, if I'm not mistaken, the 90 recommended (PSU). However, today, Papua is only 36," said Lolly.
Based on the distribution data, Lolly concluded that recommendations for PSU, re-voting (PSSU), further voting (PSL), and follow-up voting (PSS) decreased in the 2024 Pilkada when compared to the 2024 General Election.
