RK-Suswono Kubu Calls The Legitimation Of The Winner Of The Weak Jakarta Gubernatorial Election, Pramono-Rano Timses: Enough Excessive Reasons

JAKARTA - The winning team for candidate pair number 3 Pramono Anung-Rano Karno responded to the statement of candidate pair number 1 Ridwan Kamil-Suswono which stated that the legitimacy of the winner of the Jakarta gubernatorial election was weak.

This statement was made by the RK-Suswono team regarding the participation of Jakarta's Pilgub voters of less than 60 percent and the lowest in history.

"It's enough to make a far-fetched reason. Currently, Jakartans need a new government that must immediately be able to work to solve the problems of Jakarta residents," said Pramono-Rano timses treasurer Charles Honoris at the Pramono-Rano winning house, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, December 3.

Charles emphasized that the low voter participation in the 2024 Pilkada did not only occur in Jakarta, but also in other areas.

Charles also commented on criticism from the RK-Suswono (RIDO) camp regarding the number of residents who were not notified to vote or form C6, so that many voters did not come to the TPS to exercise their voting rights.

According to Charles, people can actually come to the TPS to choose by bringing their ID cards as long as they are registered at their respective polling stations.

Therefore, Charles emphasized that there were no indications of fraud to reduce the candidate pair electability in the Jakarta gubernatorial election from C6 which was not shared by the election organizers.

"How can 01 make sure that those who don't get C6 will definitely vote for them? If they say they are harmed, we can also say we are harmed. Because it could be that those who don't get C6 are voters from 03," said Charles.

"This means that if you say that because C6 is not well distributed, it is as if there is a big conspiracy in Jakarta, there is an attempt to manipulate it, this is something that is far-fetched," he continued.

Previously, the Secretary of the RIDO Winning Team, Basri Baco, stated that the winner of the Jakarta Pilkada contestation would have low legitimacy. The reason is that public participation as voters is only a small part of the total population of Jakarta.

"So the legitimacy of the elected governor or governor candidate is only about a quarter of the DPT who vote, so in our opinion, if this happens, the legitimacy will be very weak," Baco told reporters, Monday, December 2.

"Based on temporary data, from 7 million or 8 million or maybe 9 million people, there is a DPT from Jakarta of approximately 8 million who choose only half, only half who chooses. And the winner, if it has to be 50 percent plus 1, it means a quarter," continued Baco.

One of the reasons for the decline in the number of voters, said Baco, is that the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) is unprofessional in distributing C6 letters. Thus, many people cannot exercise their voting rights.

"What does this mean? The incompetentness of regional election organizers, the unprofessionalism of regional election organizers, especially PPS and KPPS," he concluded.
