Jokowi: Whoever Wins Pilkada Is Not Because Of Endorse, But Hard Work
SOLO - Former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that whoever wins the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) contest was not due to endorsement or support from him, but because the candidate worked hard.
"Anyone who wins, it's not because of endorsement, but because they work hard to consolidate politics in their respective regions," said Jokowiusai receiving a visit from the Candidate for Governor of East Kalimantan Rudy Mas'ud in Solo, Central Java, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 4.
Jokowi said that the candidates for regional heads who received the most votes were those who were able to make good approaches and communication with the community so that their existence was accepted.
"Not because of me, what can I do," said the former President.
Alluding to Ridwan Kamil's fast count version of the Jakarta Pilkada defeat, according to him, defeat in a competition is a natural thing.
"The name is the governor's choice competition, the regent's choice, the mayor's choice, there must be a winner, someone will lose. It's normal in politics like that," he said.
Jokowi again said that there are many factors that cause a person to win and lose.
"You can't come here and win immediately. That's because the candidate (win or lose) and the acceptance of the community is good. Not because of me, I can do it," he said.
Jokowi also advised the winners to remain humble. Meanwhile, the losers still have the opportunity to return to participating in the election contestation in the next 5 years.
