Repeated Confiscation Of Money, AGO Gathers IDR 1.4 Trillion In The Palma Group Ambassador Case

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has repeatedly confiscated money since naming several corporations as suspects in the Money Laundering (TPPU) crime in a series of corruption cases in the oil palm plantation business activities of PT Duta Palma Group. The total that has been confiscated is around Rp. 1.4 trillion.

"So if we total at least Rp1.4 trillion more money has been confiscated, the investigators will secure it in this case," said Head of the AGO, Harli Siregar, to reporters, Tuesday, December 3.

Based on records, Harli said investigators had confiscated cash in this corruption case four times. Starting from the confiscation of Rp450 billion from PT Asset Pacific around September 2024.

Then, investigators again confiscated Rp372 billion from PT Asset Pacific in October 2024.

Meanwhile, Rp301,986,366,605 was confiscated from the PT Darmex Plantation Foundation in the period Novemver 2024.

Finally, the confiscation of Rp288 billion from the account of a person with the initials RI who is suspected of being the former brother-in-law of Surya Darmadi.

"The first is Rp450 billion, then the second is Rp372 billion, then the third is Rp301 billion, and the current is Rp288 billion," he said.

Currently, this large amount of money has been stored in a safe place. Therefore, investigators do not need to worry and focus on continuing to investigate the alleged corruption of PT Duta Palma Group.

"The money was immediately deposited in a deposit bank because this money is not small. And this is related to the interests of the state, investigators are very obedient to that principle," said Harli.
