MKD lightly sanctions DPR member F-Gerindra after criticism of naturalized national team player
JAKARTA - The House of Representatives' Honorary Court (MKD) imposed a light sanction in the form of a written warning against a member of the House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction, Nuroji, as a result of his statement which was considered discriminatory against the Indonesian national football team during a working meeting of Commission X with the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Tuesday, November 17.
"We have decided whether the punishment or the decision is honorable Haji Nuroji Engineer, member number A-98 from the Gerindra Party faction, proven to have violated the DPR RI code of ethics and given light sanctions. In the form of a written warning, the sanctions are a written warning," said the Chairman of the DPR MKD, Nazaruddin Dek Gam at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 3.
Nazaruddin said the decision on the report from a student named Yayan Setiadi was determined by the entire MKD assembly. This decision, he said, had also been sent directly to Nuroji.
"Not a single member of the assembly objected," he said.
To note, Nuroji was sanctioned for his statement at the working meeting of Commission X with the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Tuesday, November 17. At that time, Nuroji criticized the Indonesian national team's victory which was inappropriate to be proud of because most of its players were naturalized.
