Papuan Police Claims No Sinak Health Center Construction Worker Was Persecuted By KKB

JAYAPURA - Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, emphasized that there were no hostage-taking of community health center development workers (Puskesmas) in Kilunggame Village, West Sinak District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua.

The report received from the Puncak Police Chief revealed that the actions carried out by the armed criminal group (KKB) together with the residents demanded payment of various costs that should have been paid, such as the purchase of stones and wood belonging to the community.

"The workers have also not been paid," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 2.

The action carried out by KKB members who brought several firearms was to ask for payment for the wages of workers and residents who participated in the construction and material projects taken to build the Puskesmas.

"Workers are not only from outside Sinak but also local residents and currently in good condition and are still in West Sinak and are still doing their job to build the Puskesmas," said Kombes Benny.

Previously, a video circulated of KKB members suspected of being the Kelenak Murib and Lekagak Telenggen groups carrying long-barreled weapons asking the Puncak Regional Government to immediately pay wages for workers and wood and stones belonging to residents.
