Coordinating Minister Muhaimin Appoints Tokopedia Founder As Deputy For The Coordinating Ministry For Human Development And Culture
Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM) Muhaimin Iskandar appointed Tokopedia founder Leontinus Alpha Edison to be Deputy for Coordination of Community Economic Empowerment at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture.
"Alhamdulillah, I got a new power, namedLeon, a Tokopedia founder. Now, I have decided to become Deputy for Community Economic Empowerment," said Muhaimin as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 2.
The man who is familiarly called Cak Imin explained that Leon's job as Deputy at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture was to coordinate MSMEs, creative economy, and cooperatives so that they could access banking, raw materials, and other resources that support Indonesia's economic growth.
According to Cak Imin, with the various experiences that Leon has in pioneering Tokopedia and empowering MSMEs, this will greatly help the duties of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture in the field of community economic empowerment. Thus, he entrusted Leon to fill the position.
"Leon has a long experience in the establishment of Tokopedia, the majority of which are Tokopedia clients, are MSMEs," he said.

It is known, Leontinus Alpha Edison or who is familiarly called Leon is a businessman and figure who initiated the ideas of the establishment of Tokopedia, an Indonesian technology company with a mission to achieve digital economic equality in Indonesia.
Based on his personal Linkedin page, Leon is known to have been born in Pontianak on March 19, 1981. He graduated from Information Technology at Atma Jaya University, Yogyakarta in 2003.
Leon built Tokopedia with his colleague William Tanuwijaya in 2009 with the aim of helping equal access and connecting buyers and sellers throughout Indonesia.
