Having A Capacity Of 50 MW, PLTS IKN Is Ready To Fully Operate December 22

JAKARTA - President Director of PT PLN (Persero) Darmawan Prasodjo ensured that Solar Power (PLTS) with a capacity of 50 megawatts (MW) in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) will fully operate on December 22.

"PLTS IKN 50 MW will legally legalize the commission on December 22," Darmawan said in a Hearing Meeting with Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Monday, December 2.

Darmawan said the PLTS had been fully operational and would flow 100 percent of clean electricity sourced from new and renewable energy (EBT).

Darmawan also said, of the 50 MW produced by this PLTS, IKN has only absorbed 3.5 MW.

"We woke up 50 MW a bit a lot of overdose. 15 times the need for IKN," continued Darmawan.

However, he ensured that the excess supply had been fully absorbed by the Kalimantan electricity system.

"It was immediately absorbed in the Kalimantan system," said Darmawan.

Previously, PLN also ensured that the celebration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day on August 17, 2024 at IKN had utilized clean electricity sourced from PLTS.

PLTS IKN 50 MW is the pioneer of the new renewable energy plant (EBT) in IKN which is built on an area of 80 hectares with 21,600 solar panels and is able to absorb up to 337 local workers.
