The Number Of Nusantara Tourist Traveles Reaches 81.43 Million In October 2024

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the number of visits by Nusantara Tourists (winus) in October 2024 reached 81.43 million trips or an increase of 21.87 percent.

Plt. Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said the number of winus visits decreased by 2.32 percent when compared to September 2024 (mtm). However, when compared to the same month in the previous year (yoy) it rose 29.88 percent.

Amalia conveyed that the journey of Nusantara Tourists for the period January to October 2024 reached 839.39 million trips, an increase of 21.87 percent when compared to the same period in 2023.

"The number of foreign travel to October 2024 has exceeded the number of foreign tourists traveling throughout 2019 or before the pandemic of 722.16 million," he explained at the Press Conference, Monday, December 2.

Meanwhile, regionally, archipelago tourism in October 2024 was dominated by the flow of tourist travel on the island of Java, where around 69.09 percent of the total foreign tourists came from Java Island.

Based on the province of origin, the highest number of Wisnus trips in October 2024 came from the province of East Java with 15.29 million trips with a contribution of 18.77 percent of the total travel in Indonesia. This number has increased by 5.45 percent compared to September 2024 (mtm), and an increase of 14.18 percent compared to the same month in the previous year (yoy).

Apart from East Java, West Java and Central Java also recorded a fairly high number of Wisnus trips, each with 14.98 million trips of 18.40 percent of the total, and 10.60 million trips of 13.02 percent of the total.

Meanwhile, other provinces that also recorded a fairly high number of trips include DKI Jakarta, Banten, North Sumatra, South Sulawesi, DI Yogyakarta, Bali, and South Sumatra.
