The Reason Effendi Simbolon Was Fired From PDIP: Accused Of Supporting Other Couples In The 2024 Jakarta Pilkada
JAKARTA - Politician Effendi Simbolon was fired from his membership as a cadre of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP). Effendi was fired for supporting Ridwan Kamil and Suswono in the Jakarta Pilkada.
PDIP spokesman Aryo Seno Bagaskoro revealed the reason for the dismissal, one of which is the suspicion that Effendi Simbolon supports candidate pairs other than Pramono Anung and Rano Karno in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada, which is the party's official choice.
According to Aryo Seno Bagaskoro, Simbolon was fired because he supported other couples, not the couple promoted by PDIP, namely Pramono Anung and Rano Karno (Pramono-Rano) in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.
In addition, Effendi Simbolon is also believed to have established communication with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), which was also considered in the dismissal decision.
"Pak Effendi Simbolon met and communicated with Pak Jokowi. This is a different problem with other political figures. However, this met with Pak Jokowi before taking political steps that were different from party recommendations," said Seno in his statement, Sunday, December 1, 2024.
PDIP considered the meeting as an effort to collusion that influenced Effendi Simbolon's political stance in the Jakarta Pilkada, which the party considered to be intolerable.
Previously, PDIP DPP chairman Djarot Syaiful Hidayat also confirmed the dismissal, citing violations of the party's code of ethics, discipline, and Articles of Association (AD) / Household Budget (ART).

Effendi Simbolon was fired through the Decree of the PDIP Central Leadership Council (DPP) Number 1648/KPTS/DPP/XI/2024 because he was considered to have ignored the DPP instructions regarding the recommendations of candidates for governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta, by supporting regional head candidates from other political parties (RK-Suswono).
The political stance shown by Effendi Simbolon is considered as an disobedience to PDIP's decisions and policies, which led to dismissal as a serious violation in the party's code of ethics and discipline.
