Commission I Of The House Of Representatives Will Fight For The TNI Budget To Realize Prabowo's Astacita
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Anton Sukartono Surto, said he would fight for the budget for the TNI in an effort to realize President Prabowo's Astacita in the field of defense and food self-sufficiency.
"We at Commission I continue to support and God willing, we will fight for it in the budget and the TNI will become a strong TNI for the Republic of Indonesia," Anton said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, November 30.
Anton supports the strengthening of the TNI through the welfare of the TNI. This is because for him good soldiers are strong soldiers.
Strong soldiers, he stressed, if not prosperous, will be in vain. Therefore, Anton assessed, increasing the welfare of the TNI is needed.
"But if a strong soldier is not prosperous, what's the story, we have to improve side dishes, the welfare of soldiers must be improved in housing. Don't talk about those who have retired while those who are active are still lacking in housing, basically we in Commission I still support it," he said.
Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, explained Anton, received information regarding the condition of human resources within the TNI. This includes the professionalism of soldiers, mental development of ideology, and the welfare of soldiers.
In addition, Anton also received information about facilities and infrastructure which includes the modernization of defense equipment, infrastructure development, and the use of information technology.
He obtained various information during a meeting with the ranks of Korem 052/WJK in Tangerang, Banten, last Friday, November 29.
Anton explored strong and independent state defense points that include the Korem 052/WJK defense strategy, detection and prevention of threats, and cooperation with other components.
Of the three points expected, Anton highlighted the welfare of soldiers related to housing. It is known, in Korem 052/WJK there are still 15 percent of uninhabitable housing.
"Earlier, the housing problem was that we knew that the TNI, which is active at this time (owns) 218 houses or good units, but there are 15 percent that are still not livable, yes maybe we will fight for it again, return to the budget again," he said.

"The point is that the TNI is ready wherever and whenever, whatever the order will be carried out properly, the problem with any free meal or house renovation, the TNI will always be ready behind it," said Anton.
