Jambi Provincial Government Appreciates Tebo Regency's Young Srikandi Appearing At COP 29
JAMBI - The Jambi Provincial Government (Pemprov) appreciates two young students from SMAN 2 Tebo Regency, namely Qurrota A'yun Nur Ramadhani and Nasywa Adivia Wardana who recently participated in the 29th UNFCCC Conference of Parties (COP) in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Jambi Provincial Secretary Sudirman said the local government felt proud and paid tribute to the extraordinary achievements of the two students.
"I, as the Regional Secretary of Jambi Province, received Srikandi-srikandi, a state child from Jambi who has contributed to fighting for the environment to stay clean, beautiful and beautiful," said Sudirman as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, November 30.
He added that the work of A'yun and Nasywa is an extraordinary achievement that is expected to inspire Jambi's young generation to continue to provide the best work for the environment, province, and Indonesia in general.
"Both of you serve as examples for other young people to participate in keeping the environment healthy and providing the best work for their beloved country," said Sudirman.
Ayun and Nasywa arrived in Jambi after a long journey from Baku, transiting in Dubai and Jakarta. Their presence at COP-29, as part of international efforts to formulate climate policy.
In a meeting that lasted about an hour, A'yun and Nasywa shared valuable experiences while following COP-29.
Ayun said Indonesia is still lagging behind other countries in building environmental awareness among students such as in Japan, they have included a biodiversity curriculum in schools.
"Even at COP-29, there were children aged six to seven years from China who expressed their hopes that the environment would not be damaged," he said.
Meanwhile, Nasywa said the importance of the role of the younger generation in efforts to restore the environment from an early age and asked the government to provide full support to schools as the gateway to climate knowledge.
"Our school needs help to set an example in handling the climate crisis. Government support is very important, both through coordination with related agencies and adequate budget allocation," he said.
Nasywa also expressed his views on the importance of climate funding to create environmentally friendly jobs.
"Climate funds can be used to replace regional income from destructive activities, such as coal mines and large-scale palm oil companies," he added.
Meanwhile, Jambi Provincial Secretary Sudirman also responded to this aspiration with a commitment to connect related agencies to support small steps in the school environment and expressed support for the development of networks between schools and access to funding from the Environment Agency.
