'I'm Not Going To Let You Down': The 20-year-a-year--a-year-'s Worth Of Work
JAKARTA - Rizieq Shihab chose to continue the trial of the alleged crowd, although the judge had offered to postpone the trial after tarawih prayers.
This was conveyed by Rizieq when the presiding judge Suparman Nyompa will postpone the trial on the grounds that it has entered the time of maghrib prayer.
Then, Suparman had mentioned if the trial continued after tarawih prayers, while waiting for the announcement of the beginning of Ramadan.
"Since entering Magrib our trial is suspended, we finish the trial of the examination of witnesses this time until it is finished. And because tomorrow has also been fasting, later while waiting for the government's decision, if we later tarawih first, after tarawih we start again the trial," said Suparman in a hearing at the East Jakarta District Court, Monday, April 12.
Instantly, Rizieq conveyed input to continue the trial after maghrib prayer. The reason is that tarawih prayer is sunnah and can still be postponed.
"Your Honor, prayer is five times obligatory, but tarawih prayer is sunnah. We can do one of our own tarawihs, we can postpone the clock. As for this trial I think it is more mandatory to be resolved," Rizieq said.
Although Rizieq claimed to miss tarawih prayers very much, but he prefers to continue the trial.
"Tarawih prayer we love, tarawih prayer we miss, but we first the obligatory. So after this session opened at 6.45 wib or at 07.00 WIB how the assembly continued until completion," said Rizieq.
Responding to the request, Suparman granted it. Thus, the trial was only postponed until the maghrib prayer.
"I think this we have heard, so we can finish the prayer magrib can enter the trial again, later backdated because there are urgent activities as well, we must finish. It's okay to say we back off a little tarawih prayer time. So we pause after the maghrib prayer, Isoma continues to eat. Approximately at the latest at 19.00 WIB night, the trial is suspended," Suparman said.
