Kevin Diks Contributes One Goal In Copenhagen's First Win At UEFA Conference League
JAKARTA - FC Copenhagen, Kevin Diks club, won its first victory at the 2024/2025 UEFA Conference League.
The club nicknamed Byens Hold defeated Dinamo Minsk 2-1 at the opponent's headquarters, Sumgayut City Stadium, Azerbaijan, on Friday, November 29, 2024, early morning WIB.
The Indonesian national team player, Kevin Diks, contributed greatly to the victory. The defender scored Copenhagen's second goal through the penalty spot to ensure his return with three points.
Copenhagen started the game perfectly when Mohamed Elyounoussi scored after just six minutes of the game.
After a one-two combination with Viktor Claesson, he dribbled and crossed three players before kicking him into the far corner.
However, seven minutes later, Raymond Adeola equalized after utilizing the miscommunication of the Copenhagen defense. The 1-1 score lasted until halftime.

Entering the second half Copenhagen completely dominated the game. Jacob Neestrup's team patiently controlled the ball and built attacks.
This situation made Dinamo Minsk only able to rely on counter-attacks.
In the end, Copenhagen only needed 10 minutes from the start of the second half to take the lead again.
Viktor Claesson was dropped in the penalty box. Kevin Diks who was appointed as the executor successfully carried out his duties.
It was Kevin Diks' 12th goal in a row while defending Copenhagen in all competitions since joining in 2021. Eight of them were scored this season.
The victory brought Copenhagen to 19th place in the UEFA Conference League standings from four matches that have been played.
The Danish club has again opened up opportunities for the round of 16. There are still four remaining matches to catch the last eight for the sake of going straight to the knockout phase or ninth to 16 for the knockout playoffs.
"We got what we wanted, and there's nothing more to say about the game."

"It was a game where we had to set the pace of the game. We managed to do it sequentially, but, not at all in 90 minutes."

Meanwhile, the Copenhagen coach specifically credited his goalscorer who helped the team win for the first time at the UEFA Conference League.
Furthermore, Copenhagen will face FC Nordsjaelland's next match in the Danish Super League on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. The match will be held at the Copenhagen home, Parken.
Before the Christmas break, Copenhagen will play two UEFA Conference League matches against Hearts (13 December 2024) and Rapid Vienna (20 December 2024).
"So now we just have to go home. Then we look forward to playing against Nordsjaelland in Parken on Tuesday in front of many fans in the stands," said Jacob Neestrup.
