Ahead Of His Debut, Range Rover Electric Successful Trial In The Desert Extreme Field
JAKARTA - Land Rover recently successfully tested the Range Rover Electric model in the middle of a high-temperature desert. It also strengthens the possibility that this SUV will be launched globally in the near future.
According to the company, the first electric (EV) model from this British brand was tested in the middle of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) desert at temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Celsius.
Executive Director of Product Engineering Land Rover, Thomas Muller said the biggest challenge in his test was the hot climate coupled with sandy terrain that required torque at low speed, but his party managed to complete the test well and claimed its performance was like the combustion engine (ICE) version.
It is also assisted by Intelligent Torque's latest system that ensures comfort, calm, and enhances the ability of challenging sandy terrain and Thermal Management System which helps control the heat distribution around vehicles.
"Our testing has shown that in this climate, repeatedly driving equivalent to 100 meters upland over smooth sand, Range Rover Electric match its ICE equivalent performance in some cases, even surpassing it thanks to the introduction of these new features," Muller said on the brand's official website, Friday, November 29.

In addition, this car has a balanced distribution with a sophisticated suspension system in order to maintain control and stability so that it is easy to drive in sandy terrain.
The trade-off system provides instant torque that allows smooth acceleration, response power, and driving even when navigating various dune formations.
Then, Intelligent Torque Management also distributes the task of direct wheel slip management to each electric driving control unit, reducing the torque reaction time on each wheel from 100 milliseconds to just 1 millisecond.
This is a preparation made by the manufacturer in order to prepare the Range Rover Electric ahead of its debut in 2025.
