JAKARTA - Sir Rod Stewart has been announced as the Glastonbury Festival 2025 line-up. It is becoming more special because the 79-year-old rock ballad icon will fill the Legend Slot on 29 June.
Through his Instagram account, the 'Sailing' singer also expressed his joy at returning to Glastonbury, after his last appearance as a headliner in 2002.
"I'm very happy to announce that I'm going to play at @glastofest 2025! After all these years, I'm proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again for fun and towing my friends in Glastonbury in June. See you there! " wrote Rod Stewart, citing the caption of the post, Friday, November 29.
Furthermore, Stewart also talked about his performance plans later. During a recent interview with TALKSport, he said performing at Glastonbury was an extraordinary honor.
Stewart is ready to spend a lot of money on his performances later, around 300 thousand pounds (Rp 6 billion), in order to bring all the band members from the United States.
He said festival organizers would not spend money on the plan. However, he had no problem with it.
"But I don't care if it costs 1 million, I will," Stewart said.

Glastonbury itself is known not to pay musicians who perform as big as other festivals. Because they donate most of the money for charity activities. However, the exposure he gave and the continued effects were much greater.
