The Perpetrators Of Burning The Voice Box In Jambi Surrendered To The Police

JAMBI - A perpetrator of burning the ballot box for the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) in Jambi Province surrendered to the police.

"The arson incident occurred at TPS 2 Renah Kayu Embun Village (RKE), Kumun Debai District, Sungai Penuh City, Wednesday (27/11)," said Head of Sub-Division of Public Relations of the Jambi Police, Kompol M Amin Nasution, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 29.

"Yes, the perpetrator of the burning of this ballot box has surrendered himself to the Kerinci Police," he said

Amin said the motive behind the arson was still being investigated and the perpetrators are currently being questioned by the Kerinci Police Satreskrim investigators.

The arson at TPS 2 Renah Kayu Embun Village sparked chaos at the location seen from the video circulating, the fire was seen starting from a chair in the TPS room and the security forces were seen at the location to deal with the situation.

Chairman of the Sungai Penuh City General Election Commission (KPU) Jumilal said his party and the police went straight to the scene when they received news regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, a member of the Bawaslu of Sungai Penuh City, Iin Rudiansah, has not been able to confirm in detail what was burned there because the network there was not good.

It also happened at another PS, namely TPS 1 Koto Limau Manis Village, Koto Baru District, where there was an incident of hitting ballot boxes. The cause of these two incidents is still under investigation by the authorities.
