Lawyers Explain Reasons For Firli Bahuri Missing KPK Examination
JAKARTA - Former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri is again absent from being questioned as a suspect in alleged extortion of former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL, today. The reason is because the case handled by Polda Metro Jaya is considered not to be met with material requirements.
The reason for Firli Bahuri's absence was revealed by his attorney, Ian Iskandar. According to him, this pretext became the legal basis for his client not to comply with the summons for examination.
"Yes, it's legal. Yes, it's a legal reason that it didn't fulfill, what, the allegations of material requirements that were alleged against him," Ian told reporters, Thursday, November 28.
The reason is said to have been submitted to investigators through a letter submitted this morning.
In addition, for the same reason, Polda Metro Jaya was asked to stop handling the alleged extortion case.
The material requirements were not fulfilled, said Ian, as evidenced by the failure to complete the case file. Repeatedly, investigators have transferred it to the Prosecutor's Office but are always returned on incomplete grounds.
"Yes, it's a legal reason. The back and forth of the case file proves that the material requirements alleged against Mr. Firli are not fulfilled," said Ian.
