There Are 300 Houses Of Residents Of Kebon Pala Submerged By 2.5 Meters Of Floods, Residents: There Is No Government Assistance Yet

JAKARTA - Floods that hit dense residential areas in Kebon Pala, Kampung Melayu Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, submerged as many as 300 houses in 5 RWs of the area on Thursday, November 28, morning.

"There is no government assistance so far. There are residents who want to evacuate but are still waiting for the SAR Team to arrive," said Head of RT 13/04 Kampung Melayu Village, Sanusi, to reporters.

The water level has been observed to date at about 2.5 meters. Floods caused by the overflow of the Ciliwung River due to water sent from Bogor and heavy rains that occurred in the Jakarta area on Wednesday.

"The current flood height has reached 2.5 meters. The cause of the flood of water sent from Bogor and heavy rain," he said.

According to him, the flood was not only experienced by residents of RT 13, but there were 10 other RTs who were also affected by the flood.

In fact, Sanusi estimates that there are 5 RWs in Kampung Melayu Village which were affected by the flood due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River. "The number of houses affected by the flood is estimated at more than 300 houses," he said.

According to him, there are a number of residents who want to flee to a higher and safer place, but are still waiting for the SAR team.

"There are some residents who want to evacuate, but are still waiting for the SAR team. However, most of the residents are'standby' in their homes," he said.

Until now, added Sanusi, there has been no assistance from the local government to deal with residents affected by the flood.
