Uniquely, The 2024 Regional Head Election TPS In Situbondo Lifts Rural Elements

JAKARTA - The Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) in Mimbaan Village, Panji District, Situbondo Regency, East Java, decorated the polling stations (TPS) with a unique theme to increase voter participation in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada).

Chairman of KPPS Polling Station 009, Mimbaan Village, Gunawan Candra Buana said that his party deliberately made a polling station with a rural feel to attract people to come and give their voting rights.

"By celebrating a unique and interesting TPS, we are very optimistic that voters are also interested in coming and giving their voting rights," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

Gunawan Candra admitted that it took four days to prepare a rural TPS nuance, because it had to make a gate from woven bamboo and several similar accessories.

In the corner of the entrance to the TPS, there is also a set of woven bamboo seats decorated with several caps that read the invitation to vote. The place is provided to voters to do selfies.

In addition, continued Gunawan, KPPS officers also wore Madura clothes, namely Sakera and Marlena, to strengthen the rural atmosphere at the unique TPS.

Gunawan Candra said, at TPS 009 there were 435 people registered on the permanent voter list (DPT) consisting of 210 male voters and 225 female voters.

"The total number of ballots is 446 pieces, because it is added to 2.5 percent of the number of voters is fixed," he said.

Situbondo Regency KPU data states that there are 1,030 polling stations prepared by the KPU to facilitate 507,507 voters consisting of 244,799 male voters and 262,708 female voters.
