The Ministry Of Home Affairs Expresses The 2024 Pilkada In Areas Affected By Smooth Disasters, Including Around Lewotobi

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) said that the 2024 Pilkada will run smoothly in disaster-affected areas, such as in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

"So far the report has been running smoothly. In the evacuation, residents are very enthusiastic," said Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto after visiting Polling Station 006 at SDN Pegangsaan 01 Pagi, Pegangsaan Village, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 27, was confiscated by Antara.

Meanwhile, he explained that the Ministry of Home Affairs had visited areas affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki in East Flores Regency, and ensured the readiness of a special polling station (TPS).

"Yesterday we visited the area, and ensured that the 22 polling stations were ready, and all residents had received invitations or at least there were population documents that they could bring to the polling station to vote," he said.

Furthermore, he explained that the 22 special polling stations are located in refugee areas, while the other 2 polling stations are located on the border to facilitate independent refugees.

Previously, the East Flores Regency Government had declared an emergency response status for the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki for 58 days which took effect from November 4 to December 31, 2024.

This determination follows the increase in the status of Mount Lewotobi Laki from Level III (Alert) to Level IV (Awas) which caused significant casualties and infrastructure damage.

Currently, the ongoing 2024 Pilkada stage is the vote. After that, starting today until December 16, 2024, vote count and recapitulation of vote count results.
