JAKARTA - Candidate for Deputy Governor of Jakarta number 1 Suswono responded to cawagub number 3 Rano Karno alias Bang Doel who laughed at him for voting in Bogor, West Java. Meanwhile, cagub Ridwan Kamil exercised his voting rights in Bandung, West Java.

According to Suswono, Bang Doel's attitude is strange because the rules state that every citizen uses their voting rights according to their domicile on their identity card (KTP).

In fact, he said, the rules allow any Indonesian citizen to run in any area in the Pilkada.

"Yes, it's okay, that's the KPU rule, right, according to the ID card. Indeed, I have an ID card (Bogor), this is actually public information that is open, right, meaning that nothing should be covered up. Yes, because yes, I am a resident of the Bogor ID card, yes, I have the right to nominate it in Bogor. It's the same as Mr. Ridwan Kamil, right, he also has a Bandung ID card, it's natural, but also his voting in Bandung," said Suswono at his residence in Bogor, West Java, Wednesday, November 27.

"So I think that's wrong, if you laugh at it. Someone can be nominated anywhere in Indonesian territory. Being a candidate for governor, a candidate for deputy governor, a candidate for regent, a candidate for deputy regent, as well as a candidate for mayor or deputy mayor. Yes, we rule like that. It means it's strange if he laugh. Maybe he doesn't know the rules, hahaha," he continued.

The senior PKS politician assessed that the 2024 Pilkada should be made relaxed and peaceful. No longer the election is colored by satirical and slanderous.

"We just relax this election, this election. Don't be too tense. We have committed, peaceful elections, which don't need a lot of slander. So that we will grow a sense of statesmanship," he said.

"If it's called contestation, yes, someone will win, someone will lose. That's just it. So you don't have to make it hurt that long. You don't need to," added Suswono.

The Minister of Agriculture under President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono also prayed that the results of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada would be the best for the people of Jakarta, as well as the best for the RIDO pair.
