BPBD Pasang Bronjong Penguat Jalan Di OKU Sumsel Pascalongsor H-1 Pencolosan Pilkada

JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) installed gabions on the landslide road in the Sinar Marga Village area, Mekakau Ilir District, South Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra (Sumsel), before hoarding was carried out.

Head of BPBD South OKU, Koni Romli said, the high rainfall that occurred on Sunday, November 17, caused the road to collapse to form a large hole that endangered road users.

The damage to the main route connecting Banding Agung, Mekakau Ilir, and Beringin Island sub-districts hampered the mobility of residents and threatened the safety of the two-wheeled and four-wheeled riders who crossed the road.

As an effort to overcome it, his party together with the Sinar Marga Village Government installed gabions as road boosters before being buried with soil so that motorized vehicles could safely cross.

The installation of this gabions is an effort to accelerate the improvement of damaged infrastructure so that traffic flow can return to normal.

In the repair process, he said, his party deployed a unit of heavy equipment in the form of mini-exca so that the work was faster, easier and maximum.

"The process of installing the gabions has been carried out since Tuesday (12 November 2024). Hopefully, the work will be completed soon to continue stockpiling so that traffic flow returns to normal," he hoped.

During the repair process, motorists can pass alternative roads for two- and four-wheeled vehicles made around the collapsed road.

"We also put up early warning signs so that people remain careful when crossing the route," he said.
