Defeating RB Leipziq 1-0, Inter Milan Tops Temporary Standings
JAKARTA - Inter Milan won a narrow 1-0 victory when they hosted RB Leipzig in matchday 5 of the Champions League at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, Milan on Wednesday morning WIB.
Quoting Antara, Casttello Lukeba's own goal in the first half gave the Simone Inzaghi squad victory.
This result makes Inter Milan top the standings in the league phase. They have packed 13 points from five matches. Meanwhile, Leipzig has not even won points and slumped at number 34, as reported by the official UEFA website.
Inter immediately took control of the game since kick-off. The first chance came in the 13th minute through Federico Dimarco's shot from the right, but the ball headed for the Leipzig goal.
The experiment from Lautaro Martinez in the 18th minute also did not give Inter a goal after being secured by Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.
Inter only opened the scoring in the 27th minute. Starting with Federico Dimarco's free kick, the ball hit Castello Lukeba's feet before entering the net. Inter 1-0 RB Leipzig.
Leipzig tried to equalize in the remaining time of the first half. However, the 1-0 score lasted until halftime.
