JATENG - The Central Java Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) said that one of the two Vocational High School (SMK) students who were victims of the police shooting had been allowed to return from the hospital (RS).

Head of Central Java Education and Culture, Uswatun Hasanah, in a statement in Semarang Tuesday, said that his party had visited students who were being treated at Dr. Adhyatma MPH Hospital or Tugurejo Hospital Semarang.

"The visit to Tugurejo Hospital was to visit and confirm the condition of one of the students who was shot in the hand, and information was obtained on behalf of S," he said.

Three students of SMKN 4 Semarang became victims of police shootings in the early hours of Sunday (24/11), which resulted in the death of one student, while the other two had to receive treatment due to gunshot wounds.

The three students were GR (Machine Engineering XI Class) who died, then S (Electricity Technical XI) suffered gunshot wounds to the hand, and A (Electricity Technique XII) who suffered gunshot wounds to the chest.

Then for a student named S who was treated at Tugurejo Hospital, Uswatun ensured that the hospital had provided the best service to the patient.

So far, he said, the victim's parents have protected visits outside of their family members, considering that the victim is still traumatized.

"However, the bullets lodged in his hands have been successfully removed through surgery, and followed by treatment," he said.

He said that S had also been allowed to go home by the hospital, and was obliged to undergo treatment control on December 3, 2024.

In addition, he ensured that the two students would still get the learning services as they should.

Previously, the Semarang Police Chief, Kombes Pol. Irwan Anwar, said that GR, a student of SMKN 4 Semarang who died from gunshot wounds, was suspected of being the perpetrator of a brawl around the Simongan area, West Semarang on Sunday (24/11) in the morning.

He explained that the incident began when members of the Semarang Police Narcotics Investigation Unit who came home passed by the brawl site so they tried to intervene.

However, he said, there were attempts to attack the members who were about to intervene so that decisive action was taken which resulted in the victim suffering gunshot wounds to the hip and not being saved.
