MicroStrategy Buys Bitcoin Again As Many As 55,000 BTC
JAKARTA - MicroStrategy, a business intelligence company from the United States, has further solidified its position as the largest Bitcoin holder in the world. Recently, on November 25, 2024, MicroStrategy announced the purchase of 55,500 BTC worth around US$5.4 billion (Rp85.3 trillion) at an average price of 97,862 US dollars (Rp1.5 billion) per Bitcoin. This latest purchase increased the total number of company Bitcoin holdings to 386,700 BTC.
The company, led by Michael Saylor, started buying Bitcoin in August 2020, with the aim of making Bitcoin a digital gold' that serves as a hedge against inflation and economic instability.

To date, MicroStrategy has invested around 21.9 billion US dollars (Rp346.4 trillion) to accumulate Bitcoin, with an average price of 56,761 US dollars (Rp896 million) per BTC.
The decision to continue to increase Bitcoin ownership has proven to bring significant results. In this quarter, the company recorded a yield of Bitcoin of 35.2% and 59.3% on an annual basis. If the price of Bitcoin continues to increase, MicroStrategy is predicted to generate greater profits, with an income potential of up to 11.2 billion US dollars (Rp176.3 trillion) by the end of the year if the price of Bitcoin reaches 100,000 US dollars (Rp1.58 billion).
