Central Lombok Police Arrest R, TIP Perpetrator Who Loses Nurul Watoni Rp30 Million
Central Lombok Police, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), managed to secure the perpetrator of the crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) with the initials R after being reported by the victim.
"We secured perpetrator R after a report from the victim on behalf of M Nurul Watoni, a resident of Kidang Village, East Praya District," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Iptu Luk Il Maqnun in Central Lombok, Antara, Tuesday, November 26.
TIP occurred in November 2022. At that time, the victim was promised to work abroad by the perpetrators with the lure of a fairly large salary in Taiwan.
"The victim was promised a job in Taiwan by the perpetrator. The victim was then asked for Rp30,000,000 as an administrative fee," he said.
Then after depositing administrative money, the victim was then taken to one of the Indonesian migrant worker (PMI) departure companies to work abroad for an interview test and was promised that approximately two weeks from the victim's test, he would immediately go to Taiwan.
"After being promised that the victim had not been dispatched by the perpetrator, the perpetrator also again asked the victim for Rp3,500,000 for the reason as a passport extension fee," he said.
So, continued the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, the victim objected and was harmed and reported the case to the Central Lombok Police SPKT on August 12, 2024. After an investigation and examination of several witnesses, his party secured the alleged perpetrator for further legal proceedings.
"Currently, the perpetrators have been detained at the Central Lombok Police Headquarters for further investigation," he said.
He appealed to the public not to easily believe in the distribution of workers who promise large salaries or outside the provisions regarding PMI that have been set by the government.
