Researcher: Find MNK Wells, Pertamina's Efforts To Increase Production

JAKARTA - Alpha Research Database researcher Ferdy Hasiman appreciated Pertamina for finding new sources of oil and gas (oil and gas), namely the Galimo Det-1 non-conventional oil and gas well (MNK) in the Rokan Block. According to Ferdy, these findings are evidence that the BUMN energy continues to strive to increase national oil and gas production.

"Good news, of course, must be appreciated. This is Pertamina's effort to increase oil and gas production," Ferdy told the media, Tuesday, November 26.

According to Ferdy, the discovery of a non-conventional oil and gas well (MNK) is an achievement for Pertamina. Because it is different from conventional wells, MNK wells are much more difficult considering their deeper location. In fact, the findings of the Gulamo DET-1 Well became the first MNK well in Indonesia and was a milestone for Pertamina and also the national oil and gas industry.

"This also proves that Pertamina is not only able to manage existing oil fields (exciting). Because for exploration, Pertamina also proves its ability to find new oil wells," said Ferdy.

According to him, the discovery of the non-conventional oil and gas well is very meaningful for Indonesia. Ferdy hopes that these findings will be followed up immediately so that they can increase national oil and gas lifting. Thus, it is hoped that Pertamina will continue to support efforts to create energy security and also energy independence.

Not only that. Ferdy also hopes that Pertamina will continue to search for other new wells. Including expanding abroad. "I hope there will be further discoveries, because we certainly want to boost production," he added.

Efforts to find new oil and gas wells, according to Ferdy, are absolutely needed. This is because the current condition of existing wells is too old so that production is unable to meet the needs of the Indonesian people.

So, with the discovery of the Gulamo DET-1 well, Ferdy hopes that Pertamina will also find other wells, both conventional and MNK wells. Thus, these new wells are expected to support the increase in national oil and gas production.

Previously, Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) officially announced that the Gulamo DET-1 Non Conventional Oil and Gas Well (MNK) was declared a disclosure or major discovery. This also marks the first successful exploration of MNK in Indonesia.

This success was achieved after a series of evaluations of drilling, fracturing, fracture tests, and well-testing on the Brownshale Formation. The main fiscal process has yielded results with the acquisition of hydrocarbon samples as an indication of the flow of oil and gas resources to the surface.
