KY CONTINUES To Investigate Allegations Of Ethical Violations Of The Cassation Council Ronald Tannur
The Judicial Commission emphasized that it was still investigating the alleged violation of the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct of Judges (KEPPH) of the cassation panel of judges who handled the case of Gregorius Ronald Tannur, even though the Supreme Court stated that the cassation panel did not violate ethics.
"Based on the plenary decision of KY on November 12, 2024, KY will continue and continue to investigate and examine alleged ethical violations of the cassation panel of judges handling the GRT case," said KY Spokesperson Mukti Fajar Nur Dewata as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 25.
This investigation was also strengthened due to reports of violations by the KEPPH of the cassation panel which were reported by the lawyer Dini Sera Arfiyanti (DSA), the murder victim Gregorius Ronald Tannur, to KY on Wednesday (20/11).
"That on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the lawyer for the victim DSA has reported the cassation judge to KY and has been processed according to applicable procedures," Mukti explained.
In addition, KY and the Attorney General's Office are also committed to continuing to coordinate in uncovering the involvement of the cassation panel in the case of Gregorius Ronald Tannur.
"KY and the Attorney General's Office continue to coordinate to carry out deepening by exchanging information on alleged violations of the code of ethics of the cassation judge and also related judges, according to the authority of their respective institutions," said Mukti.
The alleged involvement of the panel of judges in the polemic of the Ronald Tannur case emerged after former Supreme Court official Zarof Ricar (ZR) was named a suspect in the alleged conspiracy of bribery on Friday (25/10).
ZR is suspected of being a broker for Ronald Tannur's cassation decision in the DSA murder case. ZR was asked by LR, Ronald Tannur's lawyer who is also a suspect in this case, to smooth out Ronald Tannur's case at the cassation level.
