Promises For The Mendikdasmen Program On National Teacher's Day 2024, Improved Competency To Teacher Welfare

JAKARTA - Every November 25 is celebrated by National Teacher's Day 2024. This year, National Teacher's Day carries the theme Teacher Great, Strong Indonesia, which aims to support the enthusiasm of teachers in Indonesia in learning, sharing, and collaborating.

At the 2024 National Teacher's Day ceremony, at Kemedikbudristek, Jakarta, Monday, November 25, 2024, the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu,ti promised three programs for teachers along with the theme of this year's celebration. The promise of priority programs includes increasing teacher competence to teacher welfare.

Abdul Mu'ti said that there are still many teachers who have not been educated in Diploma IV or Strata 1. Thus, the ministry will provide opportunities for teachers in Indonesia to continue their studies to this level of education.

"The ministry is trying to provide opportunities for teachers to be able to continue their studies to the D4 or S1 levels of education," said Abdul Mu'ti as quoted from the Ministry of Education and Culture's YouTube, on Monday, November 25, 2024.

The promise of the next program is to improve teacher competence. Improvement is not limited to only academic, moral, and social competencies, but also entrepreneurship and leadership through various trainings.

"The ministry has begun to provide counseling and value education training for classroom teachers and teachers in the field of study," he added.

Then the last one is a program aimed at improving the welfare of teachers in Indonesia in the future. This is done with certification both for civil servant and PPPK ASN teachers, as well as non-ASN. This teacher's welfare improvement is expected to improve the dedication and quality of learning.

In addition to the promise of priority programs, the ministry also promised to ensure the safety of teachers in carrying out their duties. Anyone is not allowed to intimidate and commit violence against teachers.

"The ministry is also trying to ensure the safety of teachers so that they can work calmly, and are free from all forms of intimidation, and all acts of violence by anyone," concluded Abdul Mu'ti.
