McGregor Fined IDR 4.1 Billion As A Result Of Proven Guilty In Rape Case
JAKARTA - Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor was fined 250 thousand euros or equivalent to Rp4.1 billion. This is because McGregor was found guilty in a rape case involving him.
McGregor's fine was announced based on Dublin's high court ruling. On Friday, November 22 local time, the fighter was found guilty of raping Nikita Hand, the incident took place at a hotel in Dublin in December 2018.
A woman who reports Conor McGregor raping her at a hotel in Dublin will receive 250 thousand euros from a high court in Ireland, quoted from AP on Sunday, November 24.
Nikita Hand, whose status is a victim, said she was relieved when the court read out the final verdict in which McGregor was found guilty. From this case too, Nikita stated that she wanted to continue to speak out against sexual violence.
"He (family member and court) gave me strength and courage over the past six years to live this nightmare so I can continue to fight for justice," Hand said.
In order to prove that the case really happened, Nikita even ventured to reveal her name to the public. He hopes that his case can inspire victims of sexual violence to dare to speak up.

Prior to this, quoted by the Daily Mail, McGregor had denied that he raped Nikita Hand.
In a trial held at the Dublin High Court, Thursday, November 14 local time, McGregor was seen present at the hearing and gave a statement. At that time, the complainant and victim in this case, Nikita Hand, were also present.
"I'm ready to climb to the top of the mountain and talk to the microphone while screaming about the allegations in this case," McGregor said earlier.
"This is my first time experiencing this. This accusation is wrong and I came here to tell the truth," said the fighter.
