1 Woman Captured by Hamas Killed as Israel Strikes Northern Gaza
JAKARTA - Hamas armed wing said an Israeli woman held hostage they were killed in the combat zone during the Israeli military's attack on northern Gaza.
Citing AFP, Sunday, November 24, Ezzedine Brigade spokesman Al-Qassam Abu Obeida said communication was obtained after a break of several weeks. He confirmed the hostages were killed in the northern Gaza area where Israeli soldiers were operating.
However, Abu Obeida's statement did not identify the hostages further or say how or when he was killed.
Israeli soldiers told AFP they were investigating the claims.
Abu Obeida said the dead Hamas detainee was held hostage with another woman when the incident was both in danger of Israeli attacks.
Since Israel invaded Palestinians in October 2023, Hamas has held 251 people hostage, 97 of whom are still being held in Gaza, including 34 people who say the army has died.
A total of 10 female hostages, including five soldiers, are believed to be still alive in custody before Abu Obeida's statement.
