Candidate For Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Examined By KPK, Attorney: Tomorrow Is The Time To Calm Down
JAKARTA - The legal team for the Bengkulu Governor's Candidate, Rohidin Mersyah, questioned the KPK's client's examination. The examination was held at the Bengkulu Police Headquarters at around 23.00 WIB, Saturday, November 23.
"Right now, the democratic process is underway, tomorrow it will be a calm period, the agreement between the KPK of the prosecutor and the police chief cannot interfere with the democratic process. What we are asking now is what is wrong with the KPK, now people are being investigated, just not to meet," said Dahlan, a member of the legal team for the Candidate for Governor-Deputy Governor Bengkulu number 2 Azan Rohidin Mersyah-Meriani in Bengkulu, Sunday, November 24, was confiscated by Antara.
According to him, the examination of the candidate pair should be postponed for the 2024 Pilkada stage to be completed.
"That's why we ask the candidate pairs not to be sued, the candidate pairs should come out, if they want to be examined please, but after that they are returned to their homes. Because now it's a period of calm and entering the voting, don't lose voting rights," he said.
Aizan asked not to arbitrarily process the law in the regional election situation. According to him, Rohidin Mersyah-Meriani's legal team will also report the situation of the examination of the regional head candidates to the KPK Supervisory Board and the Ministry of Law.
"Yes, this is a tyrannical name, in H minus 4 and a calm period (this is an examination), so we think this is a wrongdoing, it is clear that the Rohidin candidate pair is currently contesting, and this process is entering a calm period of election and operations like this are carried out, this is wrongdoing and we will certainly take it to the KPK Council and Legal Materials," said the legal team of Paslon Governor Bengkulu number 2 Jecky Haryanto.
Previously, the KPK conducted an examination of the incumbent Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Mersyah on Saturday, November 23 night.
"As your colleagues already know, the last time they arrived at the Mako Polresta, maybe they are currently under investigation by the KPK, just waiting for news, it's true that Rohidin came in," said Bengkulu Police Chief Kombes Pol Deddy Nata in response to journalists' questions regarding Rohidin's investigation.
