Retno Marsudi Appointed As Board Of Directors Of Singapore's Energy Company
JAKARTA - A renewable energy developer from Singapore, Gurmen Energy, announced the appointment of Minister of Foreign Affairs 2014-2024 Retno Marsudi as the non-executive director of the company's board of directors.
This appointment is effective on November 21, 2024.
"As an independent non-executive director, Retno will provide strategic directions to GurUN Energy's management team and contribute to the resilience and effectiveness of the company's governance," said a press release received in Jakarta, Saturday.
"We are honored to welcome Your Excellency Retno Marsudi into the ranks of the Board of Directors Gurhujan Energy. His extensive experience, sharp strategic views, and deep regional knowledge will allow us to go more firmly and further on our mission to accelerate the energy transition in Asia," said Chairman Gur Gurimen Energy Vimal Vallabh as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, November 23.
Retno was appointed a member of the board of directors because she was considered to have had an extraordinary career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for four decades. She also made history as the first female foreign minister in Indonesia.
Retno is also considered a sustainable development fighter committed to issues of gender equality and women's empowerment.
Awards such as the Agent of Change Award from the United Nations reflect his dedication to advocacy and his efforts that have a positive impact, both at home and abroad.
