Remembering Prince Philip Mountbatten, This Said Prince Charles To Prince Edward
JAKARTA - Queen Elizabeth II and the late Prince Philip Mountbatten married in 1947. The two have three sons and one daughter, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward respectively.
All four thanked and appreciated the grief and appreciation given to Prince Philip who died on Friday last week at the age of 99.
Reuters reported Monday, April 12, following memories of Prince Philip Mountbatten's four children, the Duke of Edinburgh from his marriage to Queen Elizabeth II.
Prince Charles
As the eldest child, Prince Charles reckons Prince Philip Mountbatten's father has given extraordinary devotion to the queen, the royal family, the state, and the Commonwealth.
Referring to his father as a special figure, Prince Charles was amazed and grateful for the reaction and all the touching things expressed regarding his father. He said his family was very grateful.
"It will sustain us in this particular loss and at this very sad time", said Prince Charles.
"As you can imagine, my family and I miss my father so much. He was a much loved and valued figure and apart from anything else. I can imagine that he will be deeply touched by the number of others here and elsewhere around the world and in the Commonwealth, who also I think feel our loss and loss", said the Prince of Wales.
Princess Anne
As her second child and only daughter, Princess Anne said her father left a legacy that could inspire everyone. According to her, the family greatly appreciates the messages and memories of the various parties whose lives Prince Philip touched.
'You know it's going to happen but you're never really ready. My father has been my teacher, my supporter, and my critic. However, most of it is her example of a well-lived life and the free service I most want to emulate", Princess Anne said.
It was said by her, Prince Philip to treat everyone as an individual with his own abilities, with their own skills coming.
"I consider it an honor and a privilege to have been asked to follow in his footsteps. It is a pleasure to keep him in touch with their activities. I know how much she means to them, in the UK, across the Commonwealth, and in the wider world", said Princess Royal.
Prince Andrew
The prince, who is the third child and second son, said his family had suffered a tremendous loss in the death of Prince Philip Mountbatten. The family is grateful for the appreciation and condolences received by the family for the death of the father.
'He's an amazing guy. I loved him as a father. What a huge loss, I think the way I say it is we almost lost the grandfather of the nation. And I feel very sorry and supportive of my mother who may feel it more than anyone else", said Prince Andrew.
"The Queen as you would expect is a very steadfast person, and she describes her death as a miracle. And she reflected, I think that's what I said. She described it as having left a huge void in her life. But we, the family, the closer people, gathered to make sure that we were there to support her", said the Duke of York's title owner.
Prince Edward
Like Princess Anne's sister, Prince Edward expressed shock at the death of Prince Philip Mountbatten's father, claiming he was prepared for such things.
"It's a bit of a shock, no matter how many people try to prepare for something like this, it's still a terrible shock and we're still trying to accept that, and it's very, very sad", he said.
He said the extraordinary tributes, as well as the memories that many people had and shared about the late Prince Philip Mountbatten, were fantastic.
"He may be our father, grandfather, father-in-law, but he means a lot to many others", said the Earl of Wessex.
