Manchester United Legend Questions Casemiro And Rashford Professionalism
JAKARTA - Two Manchester United players, Casemiro and Marcus Rashford were caught traveling to the United States during the international break.
Rashford is at Madison Square Garden, New York, to watch the NBA match between the New York Knicks vs Brooklyn Nets on Monday, November 18, 2024.
Meanwhile Casemiro flew to Orlando for a family vacation on Disney World, as seen on Instagram.
In fact, Manchester United are preparing themselves under the new coach, Ruben Amorim, for the match against Ipswich Town on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
Amoritism pun sebenarnya sudah mulai bertugas sejak pekan lalu meski baru diisi pemain yang tidak mendapat panggilan tim nasional selama jembaga internasional. Namun, sesi latihan resmi baru dimulai pada Senin, 18 November 2024.
Rashford and Casemiro are among them because they are not included in the England and Brazilian national teams squad.
Not surprisingly, the situation raised questions from Manchester United legend Gary Neville, who questioned the professionalism of the two players.
"Professionalism, taking care of your body, and ensuring you are in the best condition for the next training session is essential for every decision you make during the season."
"He (Marcus Rashford) is in mental rest. He has to go and rest with his friends."
"Then you talk about the choice of place, how far do you fly, how different is the time?"
"Will it cause a jet lag problem, will it cause stiffness because it was on the plane for 12 hours?" said Gary Neville.
Especially Casemiro, who is no longer young, Neville regretted the midfielder's decision to go to the United States.
Neville understood very well that the long journey at the age of three made him not easily fit back when he returned to the club.
"Casemiro, if I were (more than) 30 years old, I would look after my body. He has won five Champions Leagues and is an amazing player."
"It's just that, if he goes with Brazil for 10 days, we'd say he's going to be struggling this weekend."
"They (Casemiro and Marcus Rashford) have chosen the international break. If you talk about small details in being as professional as possible and preparing yourself as well as possible for training sessions, it's not the best choice of place."
"I'm not too worried about (Marcus) Rashford and Casemiro going to the United States."
"However, what I want to ask is that if you have four days of rest, flights to Portland take 12 hours and an eight-hour difference in time, your jet lag is severe," Nevilla said on the Stick to Football podcast.
Even worse, Neville assessed that Casemiro and Rashford seemed to underestimate and disrespect the presence of Amorial.
In fact, the international break can be used to unite the understanding of the system of playing under a new coach.
Moreover, the presence of Amorism cannot be separated from the bad results of Manchester United at the beginning of this season.
It is clear that the manager needs an intense approach so that the team's performance increases which leads to pushing the position in the standings.
"They went to Portland and I asked questions based on professionalism."
"You play badly, the team loses, you are in 13th position in the league standings, and there is a new manager coming in."
"Will you choose that trip as a break to recharge your battery?"
"It's not a trip to recharge. It's not true," said Neville again.
Amorim led his first training session at Manchester United this week after. He released a seven-minute video on Monday, November 18, 2024, showing himself and the players at Carrington.
The Portuguese coach made his debut in a match with Manchester United while visiting Ipswich Town.
Neville also regretted the behavior of Rashford and Casemiro considering Manchester United will enter a busy schedule at the end of the year.
As is known, the Premier League is famous for not taking a vacation during the festive season (Christmas and New Year) period, which of course makes the players tireder.
In addition, the Red Devils have eaten all the remaining games this year with positive results to improve their position in the standings.
