Indonesia Third Podium At SEATTC Thailand 2024

The women's Indonesian Table Tennis Tennis Team and compact men occupy the third podium at The South East Asian Table Tennis Championships (SEATTC) in Thailand 2024.

Both Indonesian teams had to settle for the position after admitting the advantages of Thailand and Malaysia in the match at Central Westgate, Bangkok, Thailand, on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, WIB night.

The women's team that met Thailand lost with a landslide score of 0-3. Starting with Rina Sintya who entered the first party having to admit Kulapassr with a score of 1-3 (8-11, 8-11, 11-7, and 11-8).

Mira Fitria then went down in the second match against W. Phatsharaphon and lost 0-3 (9-11, 10-12, and 8-11).

Then, Anastasya Febian, who played in the last match, was also helpless 0-3 (4-11, 7-11, and 5-11) against T. Wirakarna.

Chairman of the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), Marciano Norman, said that the athletes who achieved this achievement had previously made success at the XXI Aceh-North PON 2024.

"Hopefully this will motivate you to train harder to get better achievements in the future," said Marciano Norman in a statement received.

A crushing defeat was also felt by the Indonesian men's team meeting Malaysia. Rafanael and his friends had to admit the superiority of the neighboring country team with the same score.

This result can be Indonesia's capital to face the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. Table tennis is one of the 50 sports that will be competed in the event.

In September 2024, the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo has guaranteed that Indonesia will send table tennis athletes to the biennial event.

Indonesia had previously been absent from sending table tennis athletes to the SEA Games because of dualism in the table tennis federation. Currently, the dualism is in an effort to resolve.
