The Ministry Of P2MI Involves Village Government To Supervise The Distribution Of Migrant Workers

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) involves the village government to oversee the distribution of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI).

P2MI Minister Abdul Kadir Karding said that the socialization of the placement and protection of migrant workers is important for all village heads and their devices to know.

To prevent illegal workers, residents who want to work abroad must first obtain a recommendation permit from the village government. The permit is issued when it is confirmed that the distribution of workers abroad is in accordance with applicable procedures.

"In addition to the rules, of course, we have to campaign, especially for village heads and village officials, RT/RW, that's important because people go to work abroad, they have to know, so in the village there is a good education, there is good education," he said after socializing the placement and protection of Indonesian migrant workers in Temanggung, Antara, Friday, November 22.

Karding hopes that the role of the village government in accordance with the laws and public knowledge about work procedures abroad can avoid acts of fraudulent work placement illegally.

He said that so far there have been people who have been deceived or become victims of the illegal distribution of migrant workers because there is still minimal information or ignorance for access to distribution.

"Those who go through procedural must have conditions in the form of expertise certification, and there through training and in this training there is a skills briefing in each field of work," he said.

He appealed to the public not to be easily interested in offers to work abroad that are not in accordance with procedures or are illegal.
