Dream Screen Feature On YouTube Shorts Now Can Create A Video Background With AI

JAKARTA - YouTube announced on Friday, November 22, that the Dream Screen feature in Shorts now allows you to create a video background created with artificial intelligence (AI).

'Increase your Shorts game with Dreamscene. Now you can create a video background instantly with just a few words," YouTube wrote in its announcement in an X post.

YouTube says that this new capability is possible due to the integration of Google DeepMind's AI video creation model, Veo, which can create 1080p video clips in various cinematic styles.

YouTube says this new feature can be used for things like putting yourself in the background of your favorite book or creating an animated opening for your Short video.

In the future, YouTube plans to give creators the ability to create a six-second independent video clip for Shorts through Dream Screen.

Unfortunately, this new capability is only available now in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. YouTube may be rolling it out to more users in other countries in the near future.
