Toyota Pajang Mirai At GJAW 2024, Ministry Of Industry Ensures That Hydrogen Ecosystems Are Prepared
JAKARTA The global automotive industry continues to develop with various environmentally friendly innovations that change the face of the future of transportation. Technology such as hybrid, ethanol, synthetic fuel, biofuel, and hydrogen is now in the main spotlight.
Although hydrogen-based vehicles currently still have a small market share, their potential to be an alternative energy solution in the future cannot be ignored. With environmentally friendly and high efficiency advantages, hydrogen is predicted to be ready to enliven the world's automotive market competition in the coming years.
The Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Gumiwang, said the government was preparing a hydrogen ecosystem for the country.
"The most important thing is that the infrastructure is prepared," said Agus when met by reporters at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Friday, November 22.
On the occasion after the opening of Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2024, Agus also conveyed his impression on this car which was displayed at the exhibition.
"Toyota has presented Mirai with 100 percent hydrogen, that's why I came here," added Agus.
He hopes that in the future the car will have high local content and can be marketed immediately for Indonesian consumers.
"Later, we will ask Toyota to prepare a local content, but it's still very long. It's just a hydrogen charging infrastructure that we need to prepare," explained Agus.
Currently, Toyota is the market ruler in the hydrogen vehicle segment by producing Mirai globally. The sedan was launched in 2014 and has entered its second generation.
This long wheelbase car has three tanks to accommodate hydrogen which is also driven by lithium-ion 1.24 kWh and can produce 182 dk of power with the help of rear wheels driving.
