Will Compete With ChatGPT And Gemini, Apple Will Develop 'LLM Siri'
JAKARTA Siri, a virtual assistant made by Apple, is integrated with ChatGPT on iOS 18 so that his performance can be much better. Even though Apple is currently partnering with OpenAI, they still want to compete.
According to a Bloomberg report, Apple will overhaul Siri on a large scale and change its functionality. From previously just a virtual assistant, Siri will become a digital assistant such as Google-made ChatGPT or Gemini.
With the various improvements Apple plans, this technology will later be referred to as the Big Language Model (LLM) Siri. This digital assistant will be supported by the Artificial Intelligence (AI) model that the company is developing.
As an LLM, this renewable version of Siri can interact optimally with its users. The language used will be more natural so that various types of conversations can be done. It seems that LLM Siri will be added to the latest iPhone model.

If you look at Apple's plans, the company actually wants to develop Siri like Gemini. They want to make their assistant more sophisticated so they can handle tough tasks and complex orders.
Apple will also invest App Intents, a mechanism that can create interactions between LLM Siri and third-party applications. To maximize its plans, Apple will change Siri's basic software with a new system in the spring of 2026.
It is not certain when LLM Siri will be added to Apple's artificial devices as this change takes quite a long time. Most likely, Apple will announce Siri's planned official changes next year.
