The British Government Wants To Help Free Nutrition Eating Program In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The British government supports the free nutritious food program of the Prabowo-Gibran Government. Both Indonesia and the UK are ready to collaborate in the field of nutrition programs for children.

This happened when Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended the lunch which was held by British Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner atTENance House, England, Thursday, November 21, 2024.

Based on a written statement received in Jakarta, Friday, this event was part of a series of working visits by President Prabowo in the UK to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

In his remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner expressed her appreciation for President Prabowo's presence.

He also expressed his hope to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and the UK under the leadership of President Prabowo.

"Hopefully we can develop a (bilateral) relationship in the future with this government," Angela Rayner said in her introduction.

In a relaxed and warm atmosphere, the two discussed various important issues, including cooperation in the field of food and nutrition of children.

President Prabowo explained the Indonesian government's plan to implement a nutritious food program for children, which received serious attention from the British side.

"With the Deputy Prime Minister, we discussed several issues about how I explained our plan to organize nutritious meals for our children. They are very impressed and also want to find ways and forms to help us," said President Prabowo in his press statement.

President Prabowo also said that this discussion reflected the commitment of the two countries to strengthen cooperation in a number of fields. Starting from social welfare and managing global issues, including climate change.

"So, we discuss a lot of things," said President Prabowo.

The afternoon meal marked Britain's commitment to continue to support Indonesia in realizing various programs aimed at improving the quality of life of the community.

Also accompanying President Prabowo in the lunch were Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of Human Rights Natalius Pigai, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Deputy Chairman of Commission I DPR RI Budi Djiwandono.
