Russia Ready To Consider A Realistic Ukraine Conflict Peace Initiative

JAKARTA - Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday Russia was ready to consider any "realistic" peace initiative related to the conflict in Ukraine that considers Russia's own interests and the situation on the ground.

"We are open to negotiations, we are ready to consider realistic and unpoliticized initiatives, of course," Zakharova said, adding Russia would only consider resolving "which is based on consideration of our interests".

"I want to emphasize once again, the keyword is to consider the interests of our country, the current situation on the ground, and guarantee compliance with relevant agreements," he said.

Reuters reported Russia was open to discussing the Ukraine ceasefire deal with Donald Trump, but ruled out granting any major territorial concessions and insisted Kyiv abandon ambitions to join NATO.
