Bareskrim Has Acted 85 Influencers Who Promote Online Gambling
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) continues to make a number of efforts to prevent and enforce the law against all people involved in online gambling.
In terms of prevention, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Pol. Wahyu Widada said that his party continues to provide education and socialization about the dangers of online gambling.
According to him, they had made this effort even before the online gambling eradication desk. However, at this time, the Police will be more intensive in providing education to all levels of society.
"In the future, our efforts will be even more intensive because considering that the dangers of online gambling are extraordinary, it is quite worrying," Wahyu said at the Komdigi Ministry office on Thursday, November 21, Jakarta.
Wahyu added, from November 5 to 20, 2024, the National Police has carried out education, socialization, and counseling in the field of prevention and eradication and online gambling as many as 2,420 activities.
In addition, Wahyu admitted that the National Police had submitted 16,355 requests for blocking sites and content to the Ministry of Communication and Digital.
In addition, he revealed that the National Police had taken action against 85 influencers who were seen promoting or receiving online gambling endorsements.
"For our actions specifically related to influencers, there are some that we have acted on, the suspects we acted on during the establishment of this desk, there were around 85 endorsements," Wahyu explained.

However, Wahyu did not mention the names of the 85 influencers.
He added that the amount of money confiscated in online gambling transactions during the formation of an online gambling eradication desk on November 4, there were IDR 77,653,433,548.
"Then there are 858 mobile phones, 111 laptops, PCs and tablets, then 470 account books, 829 ATM cards, 6 units of vehicles, 2 units of buildings, and 2 firearms. Of the total 619 cases, there are some involving foreign nationals and some of whose servers are abroad," he said.
