Strengthening Fraud Detection System, BI Will Attract All Financial Industries To Fight Online Gambling
JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) revealed that it will continue to be consistent in eradicating online gambling (judol) and has a way of preventing it as the authority of the payment system.
"BI continues to play a role in eradicating online gambling. As the authority of the BI payment system, it is necessary to ensure that the payment system is not used or facilitates illegal activities including online gambling," said Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Juda Agung at a press conference on the achievement of the online gambling eradication desk and data security desk, Thursday, November 21.
Juda added that his party has prepared two ways as payment authority in preventing the rise of online gambling, including collaborating with the entire financial industry in strengthening the digital fraud detection system or the Fraud Detection System so that they can identify accounts used in transactions.
"We have two lines of defense, namely in terms of payment service providers, both bank and non-bank providers, or PJP is required to have a fraud detection system to identify accounts used in online gambling transactions or other frouds," he explained.
Juda added that the list of identified accounts used in online gambling activities or other frouds would be sent to other financial industries so that other parties could be anticipated immediately.
