Lacazette Helped Arsenal Beat Sheffield United 3-0

JAKARTA - Alexandre Lacazette helped Arsenal beat home Sheffield United 3-0 in the 31st week of the Premier League match at Bramall Lane Stadium, Sheffield, England, Sunday local time (Monday western Indonesia time).

Lacazette scored the opening and closing goal of Arsenal's win which was punctuated by Gabriel Martinelli's easy strike, Antara notes from the Premier League's official website.

The win moved Arsenal up to ninth in the standings with 45 points, keeping them in the European qualifying zone.

Sheffield, meanwhile, is at the bottom of the table with a collection of 14 points threatened to be relegated if they lose one more defeat.

Arsenal pressed from the start and opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when Lacazette broke into the Sheffield defense to pass Dani Ceballos' cross.

The goal continued Lacazette's scintillating trend in away games, scoring eight of his previous 11 goals this season against Arsenal.

At the end of the first half, VAR was busy reviewing the incident of Nicolas Pepe's ball hitting Oliver Norwood's arm inside the home penalty box, before agreeing not to take any further steps away from it.

Arsenal's advantage doubled in the 71st minute when goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale brilliantly deflected Pepe's shot, but the ball was still alive and was soon struck by Martinelli who was in the right position.

Five minutes into the second half, Lacazette scored his second goal on a solo run after controlling a through pass from Thomas Partey before coolly beating Ramsdale and sealing a 3-0 win for Arsenal.

In their next match, Arsenal will host Fulham at the Emirates on Sunday, 18 April, a day after Sheffield went live at home to Wolverhampton.

However, before that, Arsenal will first fly to the Czech Republic to play the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals at Slavia Prague's headquarters.
