Three Sections Of The IKN Access Toll Road To Function In 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) revealed that three sections of the Nusantara Capital City Access Toll Road (IKN) have not been charged a tariff when it will be functionalized in 2025.

Director of Block Free Roads Directorate General of Highways Wilan Oktavian said that the construction of the three IKN toll sections is still ongoing.

"What we are targeting for the functional is section 3A,3B, and 5A in May 2025, the target is yes but it has not been completed. The functionality is not yet effective, because for the IKN Toll Road we do not yet know what the tariff provisions will be," said Wilan in Semarang, Central Java, quoted from Antara, Thursday, November 21.

He also does not know about the management of the IKN Toll Road, considering that it is still under discussion.

The construction of the IKN toll road for section 6A and 6B will still be continued next year.

For information, the IKN Access Toll Road network connects Balikpapan City with the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN in North Penajam Paser, mainly crossing the IKN Toll Road and the Balang Island Bridge.

For stage 1, the construction of the IKN Toll Road is currently running on three sections, namely Section 3A Karangjoang-KKT Kariangau with a length of 13.4 km, Section 3B KKT Kariangau- Tempadung Intersection with a length of 7.3 km, then Section 5A Simpang Tempadung-Jembatan Pulau Balang along 6.7 km.

The presence of the IKN Access Toll Road can shorten the travel time between Nusantara and Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.

This IKN toll road can shorten the distance from Balikpapan to the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN, which originally passed the Balikpapan-Samarinda (Balsam) and Lintas Sepaku Toll Road, which took about 2 hours 15 minutes with a distance of 95 km, to only about 45 minutes with a distance of 57 km.
